How can I get rust off old black gate and rusty wheel, please

Hi alowishes,

If you own an electric drill you could try a wire brush attachment, you can pick up a small set with different 3 sizes in a 2 euro shop.
I got a set a few weeks ago to 'clean' a set of alloys down and it worked a treat. Now by saying this they ain't the biggest sizes and quality wise not the greatest but it got my job done no bother and i'll still be able to get some use out off them.

Second option is rubbing it down with a metal brush, to get the chipping paint and loose bits off and give the gate a wipe down. There are a few brands of paint that will cover over rust but use a primer first before painting the gate.
