Having a problem
 

i need some help with my site its telling me there are new posts and there isnt

When a person replies to a post then it would show as a new post. Even if the post is a few days old and someone replies then it'll be classed as a new post. Maybe thats what is happening.

yes, you might be getting the notification when there is a reply to a thread you have been viewing or posted yourself. It is just letting you know that there is a reply on it, in case it is of interest to you. Handy if you want to keep an eye on a particular item or thread in general.
