Clarification....Please.

Hi Chris,

Can you please explain why there is an indication that I have posted in a thread, when I have not done so.... Thread in question is * Aluminium Door* posted by DIYER.

I'm curious as to how this would happen ????

Thanks
Bibi

Hi Bibi,

By "indication", I presume you mean a white arrow pointing downwards in the envelope icon at the extreme left of the thread/ad. I've checked the post...
http://www.jumbletown.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=36125
...and sure enough you haven't made a post on the thread in question. As to why you're seeing an arrow indicating that you have made a post, well, search me, we've never had this reported to us before and I've personally never noticed it with my own account. It could be just a minor gremlin. I suggest you refresh your page-view by pressing the F5 key (top row of your keyboard) or else log-off and then back on again. I don't think it's anything serious as no one (including Admin) can log-on with your User Name as your Password is known only to you...unless of course, you allow another person to log-on in your stead.

Hi Chris...

First noticed this some time ago & thought my eyes were playing tricks!!

I did refresh etc at the time (as you now suggest), but to no avail. I have never given anyone else my password, so I am at a loss as to how the gremlins got to work. Ideas ?

Thanks
Bibi

Hi Bibi,

Is the white arrow pointing down in the envelope still there? Are you sure you're not confusing it with the white V sign in a blue box that indicates that there is a new post (by anyone) on the ad/thread. If it is the latter, it should disappear after a while. Sorry for all the questions but obviously I can't see your screen and, as I said, this is a new one on me.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Chris...Are you still up?

I'm referring to the little blue box with the tick in it, to the extreme right of article description....just by the line which gives the location. Does that make sense? On moving the curser over this box, it indicates that I have subscribed to this thread.

Very confusing.
Thanks
Bibi

Aahh!

Those ticks were the subject of a thread a while back.

We haven't got round to finding a "fix". It's a gremlin of sorts, which is hopefully only a minor inconvenience.

I suggest you double check your "Subscriptions" folder in the User CP (User Control Panel) on the dark blue bar just beneath the log-in area.

I'm afraid that's all I can suggest for now.

Thanks for the feedback, Bibi.

Hi Chris...

Checked & would you believe, I found another item which I had not subscribed to either...the plot thickens....

Will leave it for tonight.

Thanks
