yeah, i'm looking for ideas for something similar with a bit of height, but that doesn't grow 'outwards' over the boundardy much (esp where there's no wall to contain it) 'cos I dont want to have to keep getting into neighbours garden to trim it!

be prepared to cut these regularly. they grow very fast and very high. also if planted near house they will cause walls to develop a greeny mould with dampness. |
re fast growing hedging
Hi I just wanted to let you know that the cupress leylandi are not allowed to be planted in every county I am in Tipperary and these were planted all along the side of our house and they were causing a lot of damp to the house so we went into the council planning dept to see if we could take them out as they were on a boundry divide so we were able to get rid of them from the garden as they are one of the banned plants but were told there are certain types of plants trees etc that can and cannot be planted so please check with you local co. co it may save you a lot of money in the end and it makes no difference if you live in private property or council. We have since bought Lonicera gold and the green variety they were 60 cm when we bought them and are realy flying up now we only planted them in march Hope you find this helpful regards Lolo
