paint removal
Have you tried JIP Cream with a damp scrubber, I use the green rectangle scrubbers because satinwood comes off quite easily, it worked on a glass table top.

cleaning oven
Yes, I use a bread soda and water paste as well, leave for 30 to 60 mins ,don't let it dry out then remove with scourer. use it on hob as well, also use this paste to clean mugs with tea stains.

Your Eircom bill shouldnt be around 80 euro when you dont use it, it should be the phone line charge which is 20 something euro . I changed to BT a couple of years ago both our phoneline...
