Your message total is inclusive of those received and those sent. So you probably have 2 received and two sent... (total 4).

Click on the 'Private Messages' link on the right hand side of the window, then (beneath the Red, Yellow & Green bar) you'll see a link for your messages. Click on the link to choose your 'received' or 'sent' messages and then click on the 'Go' button on the right.

Easy Peasy...

Well that's what it looks like on a Mac anyway...!! :-)
