grass turf onto concrete?

i have placed grass turf from front to the back but onto concrete, small patch under a swingseat in the shade and another also in shade.
will it survive? two people say no, but the grass under the swingseat is growing really well!!!

Make sure you leave an escape route for water by breaking concrete, as lying water will rot the grass roots

it is doing brill, very tall under swingseat, about a foot high.
In a more exposed place, still growing and not so vigorous but certainly no where near dying.
