![]() Got the breadbin from a car boot and turned it into a decorative tealight storage box to sit beside the mantlepiece.
On the front panel I made a stencil from an art nouveau design I found on the web. Apparently it is more famous than I thought… – if you are familar with it you’ll know it is a logo… though I have photoshopped the name out … Anyway, I thought it was beautiful and traced it in Illustrator then converted to an SVG for cutting out in vinyl with the cat. With the stencil in place, I painted it with silver acrylic paint but am not happy with the paint quality so might – probably will- cover with another piece of wallpaper. Full details of the steps involved and cost of the feet etc are on my blog (www.thesingingtreee.biz) for anyone interested in having a go at similar. BTW Modge Podge is available from art and hobby shops but any good quality, clear-drying PVA glue would do. |
