![]() These are some chairs I got on JT. Not in great condition, but a challenge. As these are probably originally from a dutch furniture shop I know they will be sturdy and last. Some repairs needed to chairs (and eventually to me--removing staples is a b***h). Scrubbed the woodwork down with hot water & jif to remove old grease-yeuk, removed old upholstery, hoovered the foam, sprinkled with bread soda to deodourize (cheaper than febreeze and works just as well), and left outside in the sun for a few hours. All I had to do then was polish the wood-used topps scratch cover polish, and re-upholster them. I now have ten nice chairs in my meeting room courtesy of Jumble Town. I had priced various chairs and looked like we would have to spend €70 per chair. Happy days--I now have 10 chairs and have saved €700. That is it, no more chairs, I've had enough and I'm sure you have too!!

![]() Hi Laracroft, I have a friend who likes to tell people 'she doesn't do tar macadam'. However my husband reckons that's only because I never tried!! Seriously though, I will give anything a go in the way of d.i.y. or repairs. Someone had to make the thing in the first place, so can't be that hard to re-do, lack of correct tools can be a problem but I'll still risk it. Great when you get something free on JT you don't have to feel guilty if you make a mess of it.
