![]() We bought an old cottage from the estate of an old lady who had died, there were various bits of furniture that we were able to do up, as well as doing up the actual cottage.
Here's one of a set of fireside chairs. The first picture shows the original pair of chairs in situ in the cottage. Next one of the chairs just before I started to work on it. Then the chair stripped down and surrounded by the 7 layers of different coverings, from over the years! Finally the finished chair. I've added 2 more pics - one showing the chair I've finished beside the one I have yet to start! Good job the evenings are getting longer! lol The other one shows the chair in the bedroom where it lives! - The lockers were a from a JT's last year-many thanks. The dressing table was in the house and I gave it a sanding down and painted it cream and added new handles. I had to replace one side panel as it was quite rotten. The mirror was another project. ![]() Really impressive Eily. Just goes to show what you can achieve with a bit (lot ) of effort., but well worth it. They look very comfy.
