recycled messenger bags.

hey i've started making messenger bags out of old banners and that sort of thing when i can get the material, they work better when their waterproof but i'm basically looking for a place where i could get large amounts of canvas or truck tarp type material preferably free i'm on a non working student income.
any help much appreciated.

Are they large bags for shopping? Could you maybe cut up those big big ones that come with sand and gravel from the builders merchants?

Smaller tote shopping bags can be made from all kinds of fabric. I have one featured up here somewhere called Morsbags and you can even get the pattern from their site. Good luck with it.

cheers lislaw, i'm in knocklyon or blackrock but i cycle so anywhere in dublin is cool.

Hi Neil
What I have is a truck tarp, so it's very big. It's in Walkinstown - not a million miles away from Knocklyon. The sooner you can let me know if you're interested the better as this week I'll only have access to it until Friday and after that it'd be at least two weeks before I'd have access again.
Hope you can use it.
