Default Old car

Hiya!

When we bought our cottage there was an old car that had been bought up to the house by joyriders and left, it is now nothing more them a shell.

We can't afford to have it taken away, so we open to suggestions on uses.

Thanks :)

just a suggestion.. you cud put some soil in it, and tie some mesh to outer panels and grow ivy which would cover it in no time.

Yeah its an idea, but if we could actually turn it into something would be better.

But if not that is actually a quick way to hide it.

Thanks

A car was used as a focal point in one of the show gardens in Bloom in the Park a few years ago. I don't know how to add a link but you go to bloominthepark.com and look up the gallery for 2007 & you will see it. Or you could cut the entire top off and use it as a massive planter

As much as I thought it was very nice, my car is not at all in the some range or condition to bring it to the same condition it would cost far too much money.

But do keep the suggestions coming.

Default old car

Any scrap merchant should take it off your hands. It's worth 100e at the scrapyard

Nope they would charge me to collect it, I tried.

In any case I think it will look great as a focal point, we have an acre of land behind the house and we're going to put it right in the middle with foot paths leading to different places.

I remember a old car being used as a hen house by a friends mother when I was a kid, maybe you could try that. You could have your own eggs then.

We were going to do that, but the car would have to be striped off at the inside and then we be left with all the bits anyway.

We going to do like the picture above, cover it is moss and make a focal point in the garden

I would LOVE the fire insert if it's up for grabs - only problem is I think you may be really really far from me :o(. I'm in Wicklow town.

Do you have the cover bit that fits into that insert? You know the bit with a little door/flap thing that you open for the flue?
