Default Red Triangle / Reporting posts

Hi to Admin,

Not exactly sure when to use the RED TRIANGLE. When you click on the Red Triangle, it say ONLY to be used for a) Spam b) Advertising Message and c) Problematic.
I'm not sure about b) Advertising Message. Does this mean if you have a genuine query about a poster, their post, their having a different address for different posts they make, that its ok to use the Red Triangle.

To clarify my circumstances; a poster on one thread offered an item from one address - this item was Reserved for me to pick up on a certain date with no definite address given, just the area. Address to be given on the date. Since the date I've been trying to contact the person to no avail.

Tonight I noticed another post from the same person around the same time BUT with a different address. Now while I fully understand and agree with the way the site operates as in where the "Giver can pick anybody from the replies" and I'm totally grateful for anything I receive. Why offer if you dont intend to give. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYBODY ELSE ??????????

Hi nono,

The Red and White triangle beneath a Member's User Name should be used to report a post or thread to Admin if the Member believes that it is, as you note above, breaking the site's rules/policies re: selling, offering money, spam, spiteful comments, etc.

It's not that unusual for a Giver to list different location-addresses on different threads as the items being given may be in different locations -- they may be offering items for non-Members or those with poor internet connection etc.

If a Giver offers an item, they should not change their mind without very good reason. As Admin keeps saying, we can control what happens on the public forum but it's the responsibility of Members to establish and maintain good communications -- this is key to site's success

Our "Good Communications" post can be read in the Support Forum...here:

Thanks for the feedback.

Regards
Chris P
