Hello

Can anyone recommend a very low odour varnish for floorboards please, ive looked at the water based and these seem ok, anyone tried them.

Thank you in advance

The water-based varnishes work just fine. I've used the Diamond stuff by Dulux, I think it is. It dries quickly to recoat, you can clean up with soap and water, and it makes a very hard finish. I sealed a hardwood floor in an entry with it, put six coats on, and it never got a watermark on it. More recently, I've used it on floorboards in my sitting room and other reception room. I pulled up the nasty carpet and scrubbed, stained, and sealed the floorboards. They look so much better than the carpet. The 5-liter can cost about €45. I was able to do three largish rooms (about 12x12 each or a bit bigger) with two coats from the one can. It cost me under €100 for them all.
