Default preserving colour of recently cut down large trees

a local hospital was cutting down some trees nearby. i managed to save large parts of trunks for small platforms in the front and back of my yard. the colour is beautifully blonde and i wonder what i could use to preserve this, but in mind that i also want to preserve nature with non toxic methods.
