Default Repurposing a small chest of drawers into a wine rack -- any ideas?

Hello there!!
Hopefully, considering the gorgeous stuff you folk have created through repurposing/renovating items I would have thought was irreparable, I was hoping you could help me. I have decided to buy my husband some wine for his birthday, four days before xmas (it's the simplest thing I can get, a couple of bottles a month, and at least I know he'll like it!). We have a wine rack that holds five bottles and he is always bemoaning how small it is. So I thought I would add to his present by repurposing a small chest of drawers we have in the shed by taking out the inside, adding slotted sections on inside top to hang glasses from, adding a solid bottom and then I get stuck. Have no experience at woodwork, but my teenage son has promised to help, just we're not sure how to go about it. Any ideas???

Hiya,

This might be of some use to you, there's lots of projects for wine racks on it.

That will make a wonderful present as you and your son will have put so much thought and effort into it. I hope you consider doing a before and after of it? Best of luck.

Thanks very much for the fast replies and encouragement, I've been looking through that website you provided the link to and would love to try one in particular, it seems exactly what I want, not sure if we would have the skills necessary so am going to print off the instructions and diagrams and get son to ask woodwork teacher's advice. My other option is the PVC pipes one, that is so simple yet would never have thought of it! Thanks a million, and of course I'll show before and after if anyone is interested, this could take a while though because we're trying to do it in secret and hubby hasn't much work at mo so is always in the house (he's a builder). Thanks again for your help.
