Dyeing curtains
Can anyone advise me regarding is there any where I can get a pair of curtains dyed? These are a very good quality heavy lined patio door curtains which are green and white striped but no longer suit our kitchen and have been in our attic for a couple of years as a result, I would love to dye them black and rehang them, I know they would turn out striped but that doesn't matter but they are too big for my washing machine so can anyone tell me where I could get them done?

try it yourself
Hi There,
Maybe try doing it yourself? I dyed a pair of very heavy thick curtains myself a few years ago. You can buy dye which works in the washing machine from some chemists, usually old school ones, not boots etc. I put one curtain in at a time and used plenty of dye, they turned out much better than expected. If its not as good as you like someone else could possibly still try dying over that? Good luck, S |

Dyed curtains,
Hi, I would advise removing lining first. If curtains are still too big for your washing machine I would advise splitting the curtains. Therefore four washing machine lots.
Good luck. |
