![]() Think the trick is to drill the glass very slowly. Like drilling tiles.

![]() hi,
you wrap the bottle in a thick cloth and fix it upside down in a vice or something so that it wont move. then get a drill with very slow speed and a small diamond tipped drill bit just big enough for the flex, make a well around where the hole will be and pour some baby oil or water into it and away you go! its tedious work cos the last part can be tricky with the bottle sometimes cracking or the hole breaking into a much larger one. if this happens discard the bottle and start again cos the bottle will eventually crack. (and so will you!) and most importantly : WEAR EYE/ HAND PROTECTION! another idea is to heat the bottle around the base and dip it quickly into cold water, the base will then drop off. be careful with sharp edges tho and sand the edges slowly with damp glass paper. there is a very fine glass dust which comes off and is very detrimental to lungs... cough cough. |
