![]() I have come across tin foil type sheets been sold on naturalcollection.com.
It claims that it helps save wasted heat loss by putting tin foil behind the rads which reflects heat back into the room. Anyone try this? |

![]() We used to do this when I was a wee girl. My mother put good old fashioned tin foil behind storage heaters to direct heat into the room...long time ago now so must be an old remedy that still works.

![]() You can make one so easily yourself. Just buy some foil and get a large piece of cardboard, even stick some bits together to fit behind a long rad.
Then just wrap the foil around the cardboard. I found a little glue stick helped anchor the foil a little. Then tape the edges and drop behind rad. It doesn't matter if it's not pretty, it's invisible. This is especially good for rads on outside walls. You can really feel how cool the wall is behind the panel. Hope this saves someone some energy and some money! |
