![]() Does anyone know of an organisation/charity etc that takes old school books? Maybe for schools in the 3rd World or something.
I have some left that have not been taken by anyone and are more likely not on the curriculum anymore. My local charity shop doesn't take school books and I hate throwing them out...although it would be into the recycling bin at least:) There's no use putting them onto schoolbookexchange.ie either. All suggestions welcome mrsl |

![]() Hi mrsl, have you thought of asking your local school if they would like them. Maybe they could use them as extra material for resource classes or something.

![]() Where are you located? I'm a home-schooler and have kids at all stages so your books would be much appreciated by me (but probably not the kids!) :-)

![]() I work for youthreach and we're always looking for books especially since the cuts - if you have a local youthreach i'm sure they would gladly take them off your hands

![]() Hi guys
Was watching the Afternoon show this afternoon on RTE and it mentioned about the scoolbookechange.ie website which a father set up coz he was sick of forking out all the money during the summer holidays - he has 4 kids in secondary school so you should check it out. Anyway they asked if anyone else had any good ideas about saving money/recycling and I sent in the link for jumbletown so hopefully we should get some more JT'ers before long. Congrats on being able to recycle the books |
