![]() Hi Only, was away and only picked up on this last night--brilliant thread. Couldn't resist penning a few lines myself!!
There was a gal called Only who was feeling kinda lonely, so along came lots of worms but they only made her squirm. Nature is a marvel, nature is a pain, seems all those worms came to call because of too much rain! Her JTowner friends told her she oughter kill them with boiling water, But Only couldn't hack it to kill those leather jackets. She said 'truth to tell I'd rather go 'au naturelle' I know just how to beat 'em, we'll get the birds to eat 'em.' Now only a few remain but the'yll soon change again. As sure as eggs is eggs they'll become daddy-long-legs. They'll be flying through the air getting caught in Only's hair. Then we'll hear her scream then we'll see her squirm. Then she'll cry 'why couldn't they, stay as wiggly worms?' 'Nature is a marvel, nature is just great. Oh why can't Mother Nature stay, outside of my front gate??!!' |

![]() Hi Only, hope you know I am only having a little fun--at your expense I know but no malice intended. We used to have the same thing when we lived in Bray except it was flying black ants. We would come home and they would be all over the front door right up to the handle. We would use fly spray, ant powder, boiling water, anything to get rid of them. But every year they would come back in their hundreds and disgust us for a couple of days. Glad your problem is solved but don't forget--if the daddy long legs are about-- don't catch them by the leg cos it just comes off and they keep flying--only pulling your leg-LOL- hope it doesn't fall off too!! Yours in fun and friendship--Eibhlin.

All taken in fun Eibhlin :D You're a mighty poet ... don't know how you come up with it all.... If I was any good at that kind of thing I'd retaliate :D ... but I haven't that gift. The ants must have been unreal! ... At least these things were on the ground and not on the door ... am hoping its a once off ... Oh, and I promise I won't catch them by the leg .... will make hubby do it instead lol |

![]() Been watching this thread closely as I have to get out into the garden to do some prep soon for my veggie patch. I’m pretty late I know but I haven’t had time to do it recently. I’ve been pacing up and down the living room looking out at my badly neglected garden and thinking about poor Only’s little visitors. What horrors await me I wonder? It’s threads like this one puts me right off the Good Life! If I find any new ‘friends’ I’ll let ye all know but fingers crossed it’ll just be the usual old earwigs, ants, worrims, and the rest. One thing I will say however is, don’t, and I mean DON’T, hoover up creepy crawlies!!!!! Not even dead ones! EVER!!
Bless you all! |

![]() Well I wish you luck with your gardening!
Whenever I venture out I make sure I'm all gloved up ... cannot BEAR to touch any little critters. Can I ask why no hoovering critters??? ... Is it in case they are carrying eggs and they hatch in the hoover?? Or something else I should be worrying about?? ...... |

![]() Heh heh heh. Sorry, falling into a Hitchcock scene there for a minute.
Anyhoo, I don't recommend hoovering up the little divils because if they ain't all really really dead, only pretending like, and you store your hoover under the stairs, what do ya think will happen then I asks ya?? Heh heh heh. |
