![]() I got this garden bench from LTaylor recently. It was not in great condition but that didn't bother me as I needed a chair not a bench. Took it all apart (had to cut the bolts off the chair with a hack saw). I bought a new threaded bolt to stabilise the legs. I cut new laths of wood and stained them before painting the metal frame with hammerite and then attached the wood. A coat of yacht varnish to the wood and the job is finished. Total cost: less than €5 for the threaded bolt and bolts for the wood to attach to the frame.

![]() Thanks for all the positive comments. I now have all the garden furniture I need for my retreat centre. It has been a slow process from collecting the first items from Teepee in Bray a couple of years ago in the snow (hubby thought I was mad) to finishing this little chair. All good things come to those who wait, it is said and is definitely true. I can now concentrate my efforts on the shrubs and plants, so visitors will have something nice to look at as they relax on the garden furniture. Many thanks to all who have contributed over the last couple of years. Eibhlin.

![]() Hi Eibhlin - that's absolutely brilliant! You've made such a good job of it. It's so nice to see that it didn't go to waste. You can be proud of yourself.
