![]() I have been given my next repurposing challenge. ...
And it's a toughie. An ancient, woodworm riddled, peeling, old, large picture frame. Found in an old derelict house in Leitrim. Would be great to light the fire! But no - I have an idea for repurposing it into......well, can anyone guess what it will become? All I'll say it that it wont be a picture frame! I know exactly how it will turn out - I can see it in my mind's eye finished and in daily use. UPDATE: Finished at last. I painted the frame, filled it with hardboard, painted it with blackboard paint, used part of a brown front cover from the old sheet music and trimmed that with some very old wallpaper trim, added a piece of chalk on a string. Done. UPDATE: Hubby not happy - Dog very happy! |

![]() Well, feck ye' Chris....you cracked it. A chalkboard. A rustic, shabby chic chalkboard. Just like the ones on Etsy.com that cost a fortune and the makers spend ages "distressing" to look old. Mine has been getting distressed for decades! (a bit like me)
I think I'll get into a huff now and take meself and me chalkbaord off to bother the Dublinwaste-rs! Cheers...Me |

![]() I mean I'd be looking to turn it into a large mirror! It would look really nice!
You know some of the wood we found in this place and given to us! Had to be re used. I wanted to have lots of wild birds in the garden so Mick made bird tables. They are pretty rudimentary but we really see them because they hold up to 5 to 6 birds at a time! Goldfinch, starlings, swallows, tits etc. We also have magpies but I feed them in the other side of the garden! They've learnt that south is for the wee ones only LOL |
