![]() If my thinking is correct, bindweed twirls up the stems of your plants and flowers, smothering them. The best thing to do is to insert a stick beside the plant and let it wind around that for a while...then unwind it after a few weeks and carefully spray with a glyphosate weedkiller. Do it when the bindweed is in full growth rather than when it's young.

![]() Hi folks, I have some of this bindweed in my garden too, mainly where I have rose bush and other climbers. Normally I just pull as much as I can out (but usually get the hands cut off me from rose thorns!) Can I spray around these plants with glyphosate? or will it harm them? Thanks in advance for any advice.

![]() I am going to put old carpet over the big area where I have loads of bindweed and other weeds and leave it there for a few months, I tried this on another area and the weeds died. I will spray with weedkiller first. If the bindweed is among other plants, try putting a cane in as in first reply and then unwind it and put a plastic bag over it and spray into the bag.

![]() Thanks for all the replys, sorry it took so long to get back (lost my password)
The bindweed is nearly gone now after 2/3 goes of Resolva 24H (after letting it wind its way up some sticks) & 4/5 goes over with the rotovator & then rake out the roots. It is still popping up in places but i just pull it out (as another site said this weakens it) I guess its something that you can never get rid of completely but at least it is manageable now. Thanks again for all the advice |
